Get Acquainted with our Collective | Jos Evans – Operations Manager

There is nothing that I love more than sitting with my family around the boma fire after an evening game drive, listening to the camp guides sharing tales of their encounters with African animals, big and small.

When you hear the clarion call of the fish eagle winging its way over the mighty Zambezi, or smell the dust stirred up by a herd of elephant at a waterhole at dusk, you will understand the magic that Africa weaves into your soul.

My name is Jos Evans and I am the Travel Shop and Operations Manager for The Malcolm Ainscough Collection, meaning that I am the person behind-the-scenes who handles the operations side of the safaris for our clients. If the TMAC Sales Team need anything at all planned –  a surprise honeymoon spa day, a helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls, or a balloon flight over the Serengeti, to an anniversary bottle of champagne delivered to your tent or just the reassurance that everything on safari will run like clockwork, then I make sure it happens.

My love of the outdoors and wildlife stems from a happy childhood, growing up in Zimbabwe. I have wonderful memories of camping trips into the wilderness, waking up to warthog or bush buck playing in the early morning sunshine outside our tent, fishing for ‘tiddlers’ with homemade rods on the banks of streams.

That was where my lifelong love of the African bush began.

Since then, I have had 30 years of experience in the safari, travel and logistics industry around the world, travelling from China to South America, Africa to Australia and a myriad of countries in between.  Right now, my family and I are based in London, but I frequently travel  across Africa to ensure that I have up to date, first hand experience of the amazing products that we recommend.

So, where do I fit into TMAC? From the moment you decide to travel with us, I will be there for you every step of the way, helping you plan and fine-tune a bespoke safari, taking your dream and helping you turn it into reality. The most rewarding part of my job is working closely with clients, getting to understand their vision and then putting together an exciting itinerary which will deliver the experience of a lifetime.
